In Switzerland there is a meditation group for those who wish to practice Buddhism with others in accordance with Rosemary and Steve’s teachings.

Meeting with those who are trying to grow in similar ways provides a beneficial environment to support our meditation practice. This group support helps create conditions that greatly aid the growth of compassion, forgiveness, mindfulness, wisdom and all other valuable qualities, through formal meditation and discussions, helping everyone involved find more peace and balance in their lives.

Many in our society do not understand the meditation practice or do not appreciate the importance of trying to develop the mind. The meditation group helps us after a retreat to continue to develop our meditation practice in our every day lives.

Twice a month the group meets at a different members’ home, in and around Zurich. They usually do 30 minutes of sitting meditation, followed by 15 minutes of standing meditation. Afterwards there is a discussion for 1 – 1.5 hours on a meditation topic.

Every second month, the group meets for a meditation day starting at 10.30 am and ending at around 4.30 pm. The day is spent with formal meditation: sitting, standing and walking and listening to one of Steve & Rosemary’s guided meditations, and one of their talks. A group lunch is eaten in silence. For the last 1 – 2 hours, they discuss a Dhamma topic that relates to the talk or guided meditation.
